Yumi’s Organic Bars and Organic Rice Free Puffs have recipes that are free from the nine major allergens (soy, wheat, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish and sesame). Our manufacturing partners do handle some allergens in their facilities such as milk, soy, egg and wheat, however there are cross contamination prevention and detection processes in place. These include: scheduling according to allergens (running allergen free products first), full clean out and sanitation processes between allergens to non- allergen runs, quality assurance team overseeing the release of the production line post cleaning and sanitizing, and surface swabbing for protein residues (indicating allergenic proteins are present) and /or swabbing for specific allergens (ex. milk or soy). Yumi chooses to include the voluntary allergen disclaimers on our packaging to inform our customers of the other allergens present in the facility so that they can make their own informed decision as to whether our products fit their dietary restrictions. Finished product testing for specific allergens is done as part of certification for Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO), or on an as needed basis if the risk assessment indicates the need.
